Texas Hold'em uses two private hole cards and five shared community cards. The best five-card hand wins.

Basic deal structure

• Each player receives two hole cards.
• Three community cards are dealt as the flop.
• One community card is dealt as the turn.
• One final community card is dealt as the river.
• Players make the best five-card hand from seven available cards.

Common hand outcomes

Most hands are high card, one pair, or two pair. Stronger results like flushes, full houses, and straight flushes are much less common.
