Probability Guide
Coin flip odds.
A fair coin has two outcomes: heads or tails. Each flip is commonly modeled as a 50/50 event.
Expected vs observed
Expected results are what probability predicts over a long period. Observed results are what actually happened in your current set of flips. With a small number of flips, observed results can look uneven.
Streaks
Streaks are normal in random sequences. Ten heads in a row is unlikely, but not impossible. The more you flip, the more likely you are to eventually see surprising streaks.
The Coin Flip tool tracks streaks and local statistics so you can compare expected and observed results.
